Apricot and Chocolate Chip Bread

Sometimes I make this just to use it in a bread pudding or for french toast. Haul out that bread machine. There’ll be more bread machine recipe to come.


1 1/2 Pound Loaf 2 Pound Loaf
1/2 cup warm (80F.) milk     2/3 cup warm (80F. ) milk
1/2 cup pureed apricots* 2/3 cup pureed apricots*
1 egg, beaten 1 egg, beaten
1 Tbs. butter, soft 1 1/2 Tbs. butter, soft
1 tsp. salt 1 1/2 tsp. salt
3 cups bread flour 3 3/4 cups bread flour
1/4 cup mini-chocolate chips 1/3 cup mini-chocolate chips
2 tsp. dry yeast 2 1/4 tsp. (1 pkg.) dry yeast
1/3 cup minced dried apricots       1/2 cup minced dried apricots

Put the first four ingredients in pan. Combine in a bowl the next three ingredients and blend together. Pour into pan. Add yeast or do as manufacturer suggests. Add dry apricots when your machine “dings” or as directed.

Basic setting.*1-16 oz. can Apricot halves, drained, pureed and measured.
