Very moist, chewy and delicious. These are like brownies with that German chocolate cake topping. This goes together quickly. Take on that next picnic!!
1 - 18 oz. pkg. German chocolate cake mix with pudding |
1 cup light corn syrup |
1/3 cup cooking oil | 1/4 cup butter, melted |
1 egg | 1 tsp. vanilla |
1 cup sugar | 2 cups chopped pecans |
4 eggs | 1 1/2 cups flaked coconut |
1/2 tsp. salt |
Preheat 350F. Combine cake mix, oil and 1 egg in medium bowl. Blend well. Press mixture into bottom of a greased 13 x 9" pan. Bake for 20 minutes. In another bowl combine sugar, 4 eggs and salt, blending. Add corn syrup, butter and vanilla. Mix and add pecans and coconut. Pour over hot crust and bake 30 -35 minutes until top is lightly browned and center doesn't jiggle when shaken slightly. Cool and cut into bars.
