These old fashioned dumplings are wonderful for any soup.
2 large eggs |
1 1/3 cups flour |
1/2 cup milk |
1/4 tsp. baking powder |
Combine the eggs and milk and whisk together. Add the flour
and whisk smooth. This will be a very thick batter. Drop blobs of dough a
little bigger than the size of a grape, into boiling water. Stir as you go.
Cook for about 5 minutes or so or until cooked through. They will
pop to the top. Cut one in half to check. Drain and put into soup! If you
like lots of dumplings, double this recipe.
