Chocolate Chip Toffee Scones

These are delicious & contain one of my favorite food groups - Chocolate! Serve these for a holiday breakfast.


3 1/4 cups flour 1/2 cup walnuts, toasted & chopped
1/2 cup sugar 1/2 cup chocolate covered toffee bits
1 Tbs. + 1 tsp. baking powder      2 cups whipping cream
1/4 tsp. salt 3 Tbs. butter, melted
1/4 tsp. cinnamon additional sugar
1/2 cup mini-chocolate chips

Preheat oven to 375F. Butter a baking sheet. Combine in a bowl the first 8 ingredients. Mix to blend. In another bowl whip cream to stiff peaks. Fold cream into dry mixture. Place on a floured pastry cloth and pat out or roll into a 1 1/4” thick round. Cut into 12 wedges. Place wedges 2” apart on baking sheet. Brush with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar. Bake until golden brown, about 20 - 25 minutes. Makes 12.
