Any type of sandwich will make a delicious sandwich. Polish sausage is a precooked type. If using an uncooked sausage for this recipe, cook sausage first then proceed.
4 slices baked ham | 2 lg. dill pickles, cut length-wise, 1/8 thick |
4 polish sausages | cooking oil |
Vadalia or other sweet onion | grainy mustard |
4 thin slices Havarti with Dill or Swiss cheese | 4 hard rolls |
Have sausages at room temperature. Place a slice of pickle on each side of sausage. Wrap with a slice of ham and secure with a toothpick. Brush with oil and grill over medium heat. Place on buttered roll with cheese, sliced onion and mustard. NOTE: Sauerkraut topping is excellent with this sandwich.
